MPUMALANGA INTERNATIONAL FOODMARKET OFFICIALLY OPENING DOORS.
The wait is over. Following several years of delays, compliance adjustments, systems development & integration, infrastructure modification and administrative oversight regarding localized by-laws, we are thrilled to announce that the Mpumalanga International FoodMarket (MIF) will officially open doors for active physical trade of produce on 27 October 2026.
- 1. Key Timeline & Roadmap
To ensure a smooth transition into live operations, the launch will follow a phased roadmap starting 16 October.- • October 16 (Friday): Buyer and farmer onboarding officially begins. Buyers can register early during this phase to secure their buyer cards and bypass opening-day queues.
- • October 20 (Tuesday): Market accept deliveries at 07h00 for non-perishable and semi-perishable goods (e.g., potatoes, onions, apples, bananas, grains, dried fruits, nuts, and UHT milk). This is preferable in cases where the Agency has identified a buyer or buyers of the product to avoid losses to the farmer.
- • October 25 (Sunday): Market accept deliveries at 18h00 for highly perishable items (e.g., tomatoes, berries, leafy greens, peppers, and mushrooms). This is preferable in cases where the Agency has identified a buyer or buyers of the product to avoid losses to the farmer.
- • October 27 (Tuesday): Official Sales Launch and opening of doors for active physical trade.
